I was in Gwinn last summer and it is still a beautiful litle town. I was last there in 1968 at the base and have found memories of the area. That was an exciting time....

He lived at K.I. Sawyer from 1976-1981. He moved his junior
year.(81-82) He died March 6th 1998 in Alaska, where he
lived with his wife and child. We are making a memory
scrapbook for his son, who was 5yrs old at the time of

Hello Barb - welcome back to Gwinn. A nice half day
trip would be to Big Bay. Explore the Lake Superior shoreline,
visit the historic lighthouse, have lunch at the Thunder
Bay Inn or picnic at the park on Indpendence Lake. An
excellent full day trip would be to the Keweenaw Peninsula.
Definetly pick up the book on Michigan Ghost Towns for
there are several right along the main road to Copper
Harbor, all with interesting histories. Many, many sights
or places to stop in that area as well - a full day or
more if you decide to go. And, if you are here the first
of July, do not miss the Lion's Chicken Barbeque in Nordeen
Park! See you this summer.

I could use some ideas. My husband (a native Utahn)will
be coming with me to the UP for a family reunion in July.
He's only been there one other time, in December 1997
for my mother's funeral, so he's only seen Gwinn, Marquette,
Ishpeming and Negaunee. He wants a tour of the UP this
time, since it will be summer. We'll go to Mackinac Island,
Pictured Rocks and the Sault, but does anyone else have
any ideas what would be nice to see? If so, e-mail me

Greetings, I just received an email from my ex fiance
from Negaunee. She wrote to inform me that Larry Collister,
GHS class of 93, passed away on Tuesday night, January
16th, in his sleep. A funeral service was held on the
23rd at 11am. Over 100 people were in attendance, and
10 people spoke at the ceremony. Those of you in the 89-96
crowd who knew him or who knew of him also know that this
was certainly a premature end for a person who had to
fight and battle things every day that not one of us could
comprehend, and who had overcome so many barriers in his
life... Please take a moment and wish him peace and tranquility
